Terms of Service

The short version: Use PeopleX fairly and legally. Don't abuse the platform. Pay success fees when you hire. We can suspend accounts that violate these terms. If something goes wrong, our liability is limited to what you've paid us.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account on PeopleX ATS, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are creating a workspace on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

If you do not agree to these terms, do not use PeopleX.

2. Eligibility

PeopleX is available to legally registered businesses and individuals acting in a professional capacity. You must be at least 18 years old. The platform is designed for use across Africa and globally, but you are responsible for ensuring your use complies with the laws of your jurisdiction.

3. Accounts & Workspaces

  • Each organisation should have one workspace. Creating duplicate workspaces to avoid fees is prohibited.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • Sharing account access with individuals outside your organisation is not permitted.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use PeopleX to:

  • Post fraudulent, misleading or discriminatory job listings
  • Collect candidate data for purposes other than recruitment for the stated role
  • Scrape, harvest or extract data from the platform using automated tools
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other workspaces or Supabase infrastructure
  • Use the AI features to make discriminatory hiring decisions based on protected characteristics
  • Violate any applicable employment, data protection or anti-discrimination law
  • Send unsolicited communications to candidates beyond those triggered by their application
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract source code from the platform

PeopleX reserves the right to remove job listings or suspend accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.

5. Pricing & Success Fees

Free to Use

PeopleX is completely free to use. There are no monthly subscription fees, no setup costs, and no per-user charges. All features are available to all workspaces at no cost.

Success Fees

A success fee becomes payable when you confirm a hire through the PeopleX platform. Fees are calculated based on the candidate's agreed monthly salary:

  • First hire on every workspace: Free
  • Under ₦200,000/month: ₦50,000
  • ₦200,000 – ₦500,000/month: ₦100,000
  • ₦500,000 – ₦1,000,000/month: ₦200,000
  • Above ₦1,000,000/month: ₦400,000

Non-Nigerian workspaces are billed in USD at equivalent rates based on the exchange rate at the time of hire.

Payment

Success fees are processed via Paystack and are due within 30 days of hire confirmation. Late payment may result in workspace suspension. All payments are non-refundable once processed.

Fee Avoidance

Hiring a candidate you discovered through PeopleX outside the platform to avoid paying a success fee constitutes a material breach of these terms and may result in legal action and permanent account termination.

6. Your Obligations to Candidates

When you use PeopleX to manage candidates, you agree to:

  • Only collect candidate data for genuine recruitment purposes
  • Inform candidates of the outcome of their application within a reasonable timeframe
  • Handle candidate CVs and personal data in accordance with applicable data protection law
  • Not share candidate data with third parties without their consent
  • Delete candidate records upon request or after 12 months if not hired
  • Make hiring decisions based on merit, not on characteristics protected by law

7. AI Features

PeopleX uses AI (powered by Anthropic Claude) to score and summarise CVs. By using this feature, you acknowledge that:

  • AI scores are a decision support tool, not a final hiring decision
  • You remain responsible for all hiring decisions made using your account
  • AI scoring reflects the content of the CV and job description — not the candidate's identity
  • Candidate data submitted to AI scoring is not used to train AI models
  • You should review AI summaries critically and not rely on them exclusively

PeopleX does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated scores or summaries. Decisions that result in discrimination claims remain your legal responsibility.

8. Intellectual Property

PeopleX and all associated software, design, branding and content are the intellectual property of PeopleX Solutions. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works without written permission.

Your workspace data — job descriptions, candidate records, and company information — remains your property. You grant PeopleX a limited licence to store and process this data solely to provide the service.

When you delete your account, all your data is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.

9. Termination & Suspension

You may close your account at any time from Settings. All data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

PeopleX may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you:

  • Violate these Terms of Service
  • Fail to pay outstanding success fees
  • Engage in fraudulent or abusive behaviour
  • Use the platform in a way that harms candidates or other users

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before suspension unless the violation is severe. Outstanding fees remain due after termination.

10. Limitation of Liability

PeopleX is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or error-free operation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PeopleX Solutions shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental or consequential damages
  • Loss of data, revenue or business opportunities
  • Hiring decisions made using the platform
  • Actions or omissions of third-party providers (Paystack, SendGrid, Anthropic, etc.)

Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the total success fees you have paid to PeopleX in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Disputes & Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act.

Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief from a court of competent jurisdiction.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify workspace admins by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
